Play and Learn Workshop

Strategies Based on this Universal Design Curriculum for Children of ALL Abilities

Presented by Mary Sullivan and Laura Krueger

Play and Learn, a newly revised curriculum, is based on evidence-based practice for inclusion of young children with special needs and supports research that all children learn best through movement and meaningful play. This workshop is very interactive with sensory and movement breaks. Demonstration of universally designed early childhood activities made accessible for all children come alive during this two-day event!

On April 25th, twenty-five teams from 13 ESUs competed at the 19th annual Nebraska State ESU Senior High Academic Quiz Bowl including: Bellevue West, Centennial, David City, Fillmore Central, Grand Island NW, Hastings, Hemingford, Kearney, Medicine Valley, Nebraska Christian, Nebraska City Lourdes CC, Norfolk, Norfolk Catholic, North Platte St. Patrick's, Omaha Westside, Silver Lake, Sutherland, Valentine, Wisner-pilger and Yutan along with the top two ESU #11 teams (Holdrege & Cambridge). Results were as follows:
