Do you have a child with a disability? Would it be helpful to learn about community partners that support children with disabilities and their families? If so, join us for the ESU 6 Community Agency Night for parents/guardians of students with disabilities, ages Birth-21, on March 20, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 pm. A light meal will be provided courtesy of Farmers and Merchants Bank of Milford. Learn about supports available, network with other parents and fill out an application for the DD Waiver. Hosted by the ESU6 Transition Team and the Nebraska ASD Network-Southeast Region, this event will be held at ESU 6, 210 5th Street, Milford, Nebraska. This come and go event provides a place to meet with professionals and parents, network and gather information from agencies and community partners serving individuals with disabilities. Participating community partners include Department of Health and Human Services (Developmental Disabilities and the Family Waiver), Vocational Rehabilitation, SE Nebraska ASD Network, APACE, Enable Savings Plan, Autism Center of Nebraska, Tobii Dynavox, ARC of Lincoln, Hands of Heartland, Early Development Network, Disability Rights Nebraska, CRAVE, SUCCESS, Answers4Families and more. These community partners provide services for children with disabilities ages birth to 21 and their families.
Two scheduled presentations provide support for families. Guided Application for Waiver services with PTI- Nebraska and ESU 6 Transition Services will be held at 5:00. This presentation will provide parents/guardians of children with disabilities of all ages with assistance in applying for waiver services and steps that come next. The ESU 6 Transition Services team will share an overview of CRAVE and SUCCESS programs available for families ages 18-21 in the ESU 6 area at 6:00 p.m. These programs can provide transition programming (CRAVE and SUCCESS) as well as support for students with complex needs in K-12 programming (SUCCESS).
