Educational Service Unit 6

The annual ESU 6 High School Quiz Bowl was held at the newly remodeled Seward Civic Center on Wednesday, February 11 with an all day- General Knowledge Quiz Bowl event for high schools to select two to represent the ESU 6 District at the State ESU Quiz Bowl! 

The contest featured a round robin tournament in the morning where each team played in at least three rounds. The competition was divided into three divisions - Small Schools, Medium and Large Schools.

Large:
Champion: Waverly B - Coach David Hartman,
Runner Up: York A - Coach Abby Breining

Medium:
Champion: Malcolm A - Coach Troy Prictchett
Runner Up: Centennial A- Coach Amanda Strukman

Small:
Champion: EMF - Coach Jordan Marr
Runner Up: EMF - Coach Jordan Marr

Schools representing ESU6 at the State Quiz Bowl are EMF and Waverly.

Readers for the day were Sue Imig, Nancy Schulz, Andy Jensen-all from Seward, Kathy Wilcox of Crete, Ellie Janda of Beaver Crossing and Nancy Meyer of Geneva. Riley Nuttleman - Seward and Sydney Bristol with ESU 6 served as the Quiz Bowl Master, and Clark Kolterman was the Quiz Bowl Coordinator.

Schools participating included Dorchester, EMF, Heartland Henderson, McCool Junction, NE Lutheran, Shickley, Centennial, Fillmore Central, Malcolm, Milford, Wilber-Clatonia, Crete, Seward, Waverly, and York High Schools
