Strengthening School Defenses: ESU 4 & ESU 6 Partner on Regional Cybersecurity Penetration Test
The ESU 4 and ESU 6 Technology Teams recently joined forces in a proactive and collaborative cybersecurity initiative, conducting comprehensive penetration testing on the public-facing systems of 27 school districts across the ESU 4 and ESU 6 regions in southeast Nebraska. Working hand-in-hand with district IT staff from both areas, the combined teams simulated realistic cyber threats to identify potential vulnerabilities, bolster network defenses, and enhance overall digital security for students, educators, and administrative systems. This partnership underscores our shared commitment to protecting educational environments and demonstrates the power of regional cooperation in defending against evolving online risks. A heartfelt thank you to all participating districts for their vital partnership in this essential work!

25-26 ESU 6 New Staff
As part of the CRAVE (Career Readiness and Vocational Education) program, students with disabilities had the opportunity to experience a mock onboarding process with ESU 6 Director of Business, Vicki Taylor, and ESU 6 Director of Human Resources, Nichole Hall. During this activity, students stepped into the role of new employees and were guided through real-world workplace practices such as choosing employee benefits, reviewing the components of a pay stub, and understanding expectations for professionalism on the job. This hands-on experience not only introduced students to the practical steps of starting a career but also built confidence and readiness for their future employment journeys.
